We love to design jewellery and create new works that haven`t been made before. We are often found by people who have been looking around for inspiration and haven`t found exactly what they want.

In a design session with Roley, you get to talk....lots!

The first stage of any design session is to order the coffees from the cafe next door, then listen to your likes and dislikes, favourite colours, the reason for the jewellery ( engagement, memorial...) and to ask you what budget you have in mind. This is very important to know at the beginning as there is no point designing a $20,000 item if the budget is $3000.

The second stage is when we bounce around potential ideas, look at work previously made by LODE and try and find that spark that leads to the design.

The third stage is when Roley asks if you would like to continue* with the design session ( approx 20-30mins in ). If the answer is yes, then we start nutting out the particulars...which stones we are working with, how do they look on you...and about an hour later we have a design, measured to fit and quoted so you know how much you will need to spend. We look at the different metals available and discuss all aspects of the design from wearability to longevity so you fully understand the qualities of the item you are considering.

At the end of the session, you get to choose whether to go ahead with the design, in which case a 30% deposit is paid or whether you would like some more time to consider your options. If this is the case then we charge $150 for the design time. Should you return two weeks later and decide to go ahead with the design, then this payment is deducted from the quote.

*If you elect to stop at this point, there is no charge.

Please note:- We do not copy other jewellers work. If you see the exact ring you want in a magazine, then we suggest you buy it from the advertising jeweller. We will look at designs you like, to help build a picture of your preferences but we enjoy designing new pieces, so direct copies are a no go.
