What does the (HT) mean when I read about black (HT) diamonds?

The HT stands for heat-treated. Although we like to use untreated stones in most instances, these little black diamonds can add depth to a design or piece. If we use any stones that we know have been treated in any form we will advise this in brackets after the stone is mentioned.
